About yellow split peas

Yellow split peas are found in the traditional dishes of a variety of cultures. They’re commonly used to make soups such as split pea with ham soup and in the vegetarian Indian staple called dahl (dal, dhal).

Yellow Split Peas are favorite pulses in British cooking, with a satisfying flavour and smooth texture, they add body and depth to soups, puddings, stews, dhals and dips.

Split yellow peas are high in protein and low in fat, with one gram of fat per 350 calories (1,500 kJ) serving. Most of the calories come from protein and complex carbohydrates. The yellow split peas is known to be a natural food source that contains some of the highest amounts of dietary fibre, containing 26 grams of fibre per 100 gram portion (104% DV based on a 2,000 calories (8,400 kJ) diet).
